Summary:
Xin is a young adult hoping to meet a teacher who teaches Chinese (Mandarin) to children, preferably elementary age. She has a bachelor’s degree in teaching from China, and is certified to teach English in China. She’s had some part-time English teaching experience also.
However, she would like to teach Chinese in the U.S. She is hoping to understand the requirements and any certifications needed to teach Chinese here.

We met Xin while she was taking advanced ESL classes at San Mateo Adult School. She had lived in the U.S. for 1.5 years, and has very polite, thoughtful, and well-spoken English.
She since went back to China and wants to come back to the U.S. once she understands the job & career possibility for her to teach Chinese here. It would be very helpful for her to hear from a Chinese teacher here who can share some first-hand experience with her through email or WeChat.
