The requests on our site are from adults motivated to develop their own knowledge to improve their lives. Your volunteer efforts will have a lasting impact, & our community grows stronger with every learner who gets help!

If a friend came to you for this help - would you feel confident enough? If yes, then likely you're a great fit for the learner here too. If you need more info to assess this, contact us & we'll open up a dialogue with the learner.

Every request will include these details from the learner. Requests also include an estimate from the learner on how long s/he may want to work with a volunteer.

If you are younger than 18, we can suggest other great organizations to volunteer with. Please keep us in mind & come back here after your 18th birthday!

We hope an anonymous communication process encourages honest questions & a candid evaluation of if the match can be successful. We want both you & the learner to feel comfortable before making introductions. And don't worry, the Volunteer Form is short & sweet.

We make introductions by exchanging names, emails, & phone #s. If you intend to meet in-person, we ask for identity verification first, which can be provided through a choice of several easy options.

This process can be as quick as 1-2 days, to several weeks, or possibly more than a month.

It is largely determined by the questions & response times of the volunteer and the learner.
